The College of Engineering Organizes afforestation Campaigns in Several Schools.

As part of afforestation Week, the College of Engineering at Al-Ayen Iraqi University organized volunteer tree planting campaigns on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at several schools, including Al-Farah Unisex Primary School for Orphans, Ishraqat Al-Ghad Secondary School for Girls, and Al-Nibras Primary School. The campaigns included the participation of a number of college professors and students, with the aim of improving the school environment and enhancing environmental awareness among students.
The campaigns included planting a variety of trees and plants in schoolyards, in addition to delivering awareness lectures on the importance of tree planting in improving the climate and beautifying educational spaces. Participants emphasized that these initiatives are part of the college's efforts to serve the community and promote environmental responsibility among students.
These initiatives are in line with Goal 11 of the Sustainable Development Goals (Sustainable Cities and Communities), which emphasizes the importance of providing safe and sustainable environments for individuals, particularly in educational institutions, by increasing landscape and improving the quality of life in local communities.
For their part, school staff expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the College of Engineering for these initiatives, which have had a positive impact on students. They expressed their hope that such activities would continue as they contribute to creating a more beautiful and sustainable educational environment.
