Speech of the University President
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Since its first day of establishment, Al-Ain University has been committed to instilling academic and scientific concepts in all aspects of the university. Its model is inspired by the rich history of Iraq's great civilization and the fragrant city of Nasiriyah, which marked the beginning of humanity's history and was a beacon of knowledge and scholars for a long period of history. Based on this rich history, Al-Ain University was established in 2017 to continue the journey of teaching and learning. From its inception, it laid a strong and solid foundation for the transfer of human knowledge and the achievement of the goals of its strategic plan, which it established as the constitution for its work. Based on our belief that the university professor is the fundamental pillar of the educational process, Al-Ain University has been keen to attract educational talent from various Iraqi governorates and even from various Arab countries, thereby charting new horizons for its students in acquiring the educational skills necessary to compete in the labor market. We believe that community service is a fundamental pillar of our university. Therefore, we have embarked, along with our dear students, across various sectors and segments of society, offering and fulfilling whatever we can for them. From supporting nursing homes and orphanages, to planting trees on roads and schools, to contributing to the reform program in the Iraqi Ministry of Justice's prisons, and strengthening the role of women through seminars and dialogues, we also contribute to solving applied research problems in various government departments, such as the environment, health, oil companies, and others. In addition, scientific research constitutes the fundamental pillar upon which our university is built. By relying on our university's research center, investing in the research capabilities of its teaching and research staff, and attracting researchers known for their research productivity and ethical integrity, our university has become one of the leading universities in this important field. It has provided numerous research grants and signed agreements with prestigious universities for the purpose of exchanging research grants and scientific knowledge. It has also established technology incubators, research centers, and scientific parks, reflecting the university's interest in modern scientific affairs and keeping pace with global development opportunities. Two scientific journals were also established in various specializations and are organized on reputable international platforms, contributing to the Iraqi scientific community and enriching it in this important area. Al-Ain University of Iraq has adopted the values of academic integrity, leadership in its scientific projects, and innovation in supporting students and the scientific movement. From this perspective, our university has achieved top rankings in the international rankings approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. This distinction is the result of continuous monitoring, leveraging the diverse skills of our teaching staff, and relying on competence in selecting university leaders at various levels. This distinction is also reflected in the high success rates achieved by our dear students in the assessment exams supervised by the Supervision and Evaluation Department of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
