The Continuing Medical Education Unit of the College of Medicine / Al-Ayen Iraqi University AUIQ organized a workshop entitled “First Aid in General Surgical Wards” on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in which Dr. Karim D. Al-Zarkani lectured.

It aims to enhance the skills of medical personnel in dealing with serious injuries that threaten the lives of patients during the first hours of their occurrence and how to deal with critical cases.

The workshop addressed mechanisms for dealing with emergency cases in addition to training participants on basic clinical skills that contribute to improving the condition of patients and reducing complications resulting from injuries, which is positively reflected in reducing the mortality rate among the injured.

The performance of the participants was also evaluated and their ability to implement the necessary medical procedures in such cases was verified within the framework of the unit’s efforts to raise the level of medical efficiency and enhance the quality of health care provided in treatment institutions.
