A word from the Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering
Technological advancements have fostered the emergence of many engineering specializations focused on the medical field, particularly biomedical engineering. Biomedical engineering is a highly important specialty in the world of medicine and health, playing a vital role in supporting the medical sector with its need for experts in maintenance, design, and technical support across various fields and for a variety of medical equipment. Thus, the Department of Biomedical Engineering was established at Al-Ain University in Iraq, positioning it as a leader among Iraqi universities in terms of academic value, educational outcomes, and infrastructure, including appropriate laboratories. It also seeks to embrace students and enable them to participate in various scientific, cultural, and community activities, integrating them into a diverse and progressive society. In the Department of Biomedical Engineering, we strive to equip graduates with the ability to work in a superior engineering environment, whether within a team or independently, with high efficiency and productivity. We also strive to provide the appropriate administrative skills to lead medical and technical institutions. We believe that the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Al-Ain University in Iraq will be a leading department among Iraqi universities, due to its commitment to quality standards, its focus on the teaching process, and its connection with the community. We look forward to achieving further development to raise the quality of the department's academic output by integrating more advanced technologies and adopting advanced curricula and teaching methods, all with the support of the university's presidency and administration and the deanship of the College of Engineering.
