About Department of Health Physics and Radiotherapy Engineering Technologies
The Department of Health Physics and Radiotherapy Engineering is a modern and distinguished department. It teaches the applications of modern physics in the medical and health fields, particularly diseases requiring treatment using radiation and radiation. The department is focused on improving and developing medical diagnosis and radiotherapy techniques using advanced physics techniques. It also aims to provide comprehensive medical care to patients receiving radiotherapy. The department accepts graduates of preparatory studies in all branches (scientific, biological, and applied). The duration of study is four years, and the language of instruction is English. Graduates are then awarded a Bachelor's degree in Health Physics and Radiotherapy Engineering, equivalent to a degree awarded in the specialty from technical colleges. Graduates are granted an Engineers Syndicate ID and are eligible to practice engineering in both the public and private sectors. Department graduates work as members of an integrated medical team, collaborating with physicians in the field of radiotherapy and providing technical support in the use and maintenance of radiotherapy devices, monitoring the amount of radiation used during treatment, and developing and implementing quality and health safety programs in this field. Graduates of the department can work in the public and private sectors in hospitals and cancer treatment centers, medical research centers, radiation therapy and diagnostic device manufacturing and development companies, and academic institutions.
Department's vision
To qualify distinguished and innovative scientific competencies with high skills, professional and ethical behavior, capable of keeping pace with developments in the field of health physics engineering and radiation therapy technologies, and of providing applicable solutions to scientific and engineering obstacles and community service.
Departmental message
Graduating distinguished technical engineers with advanced engineering levels and high proficiency in the fields of health physics engineering and radiation therapy technologies, by providing an advanced scientific environment and specialized personnel capable of completing higher education and professional learning, and providing community service within multidisciplinary work teams.
Department objectives
- Effectively apply engineering methods to solve professional problems related to the design, development, manufacture, and maintenance of health physics and radiation engineering technologies and related systems, while understanding the social, ethical, and environmental context of their work. - Effectively communicate with diverse and international communities, collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, and assume leadership roles while meeting employer expectations. - Continuously and periodically engage in professional technical development.
Admission requirements
-Students who have graduated from preparatory studies in the scientific branch (applied - biological) are accepted.
Student outcomes
The ability to identify, define, formulate, and solve computer engineering problems by applying the principles of engineering, science, and mathematics. The ability to produce engineering designs that meet desired needs within given constraints, such as public health and safety, global infrastructure, social culture, the environment, and the economy, by applying both analysis and synthesis in the design process. The ability to develop and conduct appropriate experiments, make appropriate measurements, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions. The ability to communicate skillfully with a variety of people, as well as to write effectively, taking into account various levels of management. The ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering matters and make sound judgments, considering the consequences for financial, environmental, and societal considerations worldwide. The ability to recognize the ongoing need to acquire new professional knowledge and how to locate, evaluate, synthesize, and apply it appropriately. The ability to work appropriately within teams, setting goals, planning activities, meeting deadlines, and managing risk and uncertainty.
