About Department of Medical Device Engineering Technologies
The Department of Medical Device Engineering Technology is one of the departments within the College of Engineering Technology, combining engineering sciences (electrical, electronic, and mechanical) with physiological biosciences. The rapid development of technology and the existence of many medical and technical problems that require solutions are leading to an increasing demand for engineering technicians to address the growing biological problems and improve the performance of devices to achieve better results that help doctors perform their tasks more efficiently and quickly.
Department's vision
Qualifying distinguished and innovative competencies, scientifically, with high skills and professional and ethical behavior, capable of keeping pace with developments in the field of medical devices and providing applicable solutions to scientific, engineering, and community service obstacles.
Departmental message
Graduating distinguished technical engineers with engineering scientific levels and high efficiency in the fields of medical device engineering technologies by providing an advanced scientific environment and specialized cadres to enable them to complete the path of higher education and professional learning and provide community service within work teams of various specializations.
Department objectives
- Effectively apply engineering methods to solve professional problems associated with the design, development, manufacture, and maintenance of medical devices and related systems, understanding the social, ethical, and environmental context of their work. - Effectively communicate with diverse and international communities, collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, and assume leadership roles while meeting employer expectations. - Continuously and periodically engage in professional technical development.
Student outcomes
1. The ability to identify, define, formulate, and solve computer engineering problems by applying the principles of engineering, science, and mathematics. 2. The ability to produce engineering designs that meet desired needs within given constraints, such as public health and safety, global infrastructure, social culture, the environment, and the economy, by applying both analysis and synthesis in the design process. 3. The ability to develop and conduct appropriate experiments, make appropriate measurements, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions. 4. The ability to communicate skillfully with a diverse group of people and write effectively, taking into account various levels of management. 5. The ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering matters and make sound judgments, taking into account the consequences for financial, environmental, and societal considerations worldwide. 6. The ability to recognize the ongoing need to acquire new professional knowledge and how to locate, evaluate, synthesize, and apply it appropriately. 7. The ability to work appropriately within teams, set goals, plan activities, meet deadlines, and manage risk and uncertainty.
